| | | | | | | | | This patch removes the completely unused CONFIG_SERIAL_SOFTWARE_FIFO feature from U-Boot. It has only been implemented for PPC4xx and was not used at all. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch removes the PPC4xx UART driver. Instead the common NS16550 driver is used, since all PPC4xx SoC's use this peripheral device. The file 4xx_uart.c now only implements the UART clock calculation function which also sets the SoC internal UART divisors. Please note that this patch also changes the "ppc" target in MAKEALL to "powerpc" to match this new infrastructure. But "ppc" is kept as an alias for now, to not break compatibility with scripts using this name. This patch prepares this change and starts a 6 month transition period as follows: - The new "source" command has been added, which implements exactly the same functionlaity as the old "autoscr" command before - The old "autoscr" command name is kept as an alias for compatibility - Command sequences, script files atc. have been adapted to use the new "source" command - Related environment variables ("autoscript", "autoscript_uname") have *not* been adapted yet; these will be renamed resp. removed in a separate patch when the support for the "autoscr" command get's finally dropped. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch renames NAND_MAX_CHIPS to CONFIG_SYS_NAND_MAX_CHIPS and changes the default from 8 to 1 for the legacy and the new MTD NAND layer. This allows to remove all NAND_MAX_CHIPS definitions in the board config files because none of the boards use multi chip support (NAND_MAX_CHIPS > 1) so far. The bamboo and the DU440 define #define NAND_MAX_CHIPS CONFIG_SYS_MAX_NAND_DEVICE but that's bogus and did not work anyhow. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | U-Boot allows for configurable prompt strings using the CONFIG_AUTOBOOT_PROMPT resp. CONFIG_MENUPROMPT definitions. So far, the assumption was that any such user defined problts would contain exactly one "%d" format specifier. But some boards did not. To allow for flexible boot prompts without adding too complex code we now allow to specify the whole list of printf() arguments in the user definition. This is powerful, but requires a responsible user who really understands what he is doing, as he needs to know for exanple which variables are available in the respective context.
