* ENGR00152241 MX6: enable 1G speed mode for PHY and ENETZeng Zhaoming2011-06-29-10/+41
| | | | | | | | | | | | | In precode, PHY forced to work at 100M even connect to 1G switch. In this commit, let PHY auto negotiate it working speed. Enet tx work at store-and-forward mode. BTW, AR8031 take quite a long time, about 1.6s from negotiation to link up. we have to wait and then set ENET correctly. Signed-off-by: Zeng Zhaoming <b32542@freescale.com>
* ENGR00139198: iMX61 uBoot add ENET supportZeng Zhaoming2011-06-27-5/+69
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add ENET and AR8031 PHY support to uboot. To make it works on sabreauto, need do following changes: 1. rework phy to output 125M clock from CLK_25M signal, and the 125M clock input to SoC as reference clock to generate RGMII_TXC clock. 2. Enable TXC delay in PHY debug register. 3. set ENET working in RMII mode. 4. set ENET working at 1000M or 100M/10M. 5. set ENET TX fifo to maximum to avoid underrun error. 6. force AR8031 PHY working at 100M Signed-off-by: Anson Huang <b20788@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Zeng Zhaoming <b32542@freescale.com>
* ENGR00137713 MX53 Uboot SMSC Fix order in which mac addr bytes are read from IIMAnish Trivedi2011-01-07-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Given that an example mac addr is 00-11-22-33-44-55, it should be fused into the IIM at the following locations: 0xC24 - 00 0xC28 - 11 0xC2C - 22 0xC30 - 33 0xC34 - 44 0xC38 - 55 Then, when reading the bytes into a mac array, it should be read as follows: mac[0] - 00 mac[1] - 11 mac[2] - 22 mac[3] - 33 mac[4] - 44 mac[5] - 55 Previously, it was read into the array in reverse order. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Previously, waiting for auto-negotiation would only occur if a valid link had been detected. Problems arose when attempting to use a tsec immediately after bootup but before link was achieved, eg: => dhcp Auto-neg error, defaulting to 10BT/HD eTSEC1: No link. Auto-neg error, defaulting to 10BT/HD eTSEC2: No link. => With this patch applied the same operation as above resulted in: => dhcp Waiting for PHY auto negotiation to complete. done Enet starting in 1000BT/FD Speed: 1000, full duplex Signed-off-by: Peter Tyser <ptyser@xes-inc.com> Signed-off-by: Ben Warren <biggerbadderben@gmail.com>

| | | | | | | | | | U-boot might use non-8-byte-aligned addresses for sending data, which the kwgbe_send doesn't accept (bootp does this for me). * Wait for the link to come up on kirkwood network initSimon Kagstrom2009-08-21-6/+14
| | | | | | | | | | This patch makes the device wait for up to 5 seconds for the link to come up, similar to what many of the other network drivers do. * Dual-license IBM code contributionsJosh Boyer2009-08-09-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | It was brought to our attention that U-Boot contains code derived from the IBM OpenBIOS source code originally provided with some of the older PowerPC 4xx development boards. As a result, the original license of this code has been carried in the various files for a number of years in the U-Boot project. IBM is dual-licensing the IBM code contributions already present in U-Boot under either the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2, or the original code license already present. * ppc4xx: Fixed compilation warning in 4xx_enet.cAlessio Centazzo2009-07-22-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch fixes a compilation warning for some Ethernet PHY-less PPC4xx platforms (440SPE based ones) and a potential compilation error for 440SP platforms (use of undefined 'ethgroup' variable). In the original code and in case of 440SPE platforms, 'ethgroup' is initialized to -1 and never modified. Later in the function, within an #ifdef statement, an 'if statement' executes code only if 'ethgroup' is set to 4, therefore it is harmless to avoid executing the 'if statement' by removing the CONFIG_440SPE from the affected #ifdefs. In case of 440SP platforms with on-board Ethernet PHY, 'ethgroup' is undefined but used (there are not such platforms in the repository yet). All other architectures are not affected by this change. | | | | | | | | | | | The Marvell documentation for the 88f6281 states that the error coding is only valid if the error summary and last frame bits in the transmit descriptor status field are set. This patch adds checks for these for transmit (I would get transmit errors on bootp with the current check, which I believe are spurious). | | | | | | | | | | | kwgbe_send/recv both have loops waiting for the hardware to set a bit. GCC 4.3.3 cleverly optimizes the send case to ... a while(1); loop.
