* kgdb: cpu/mpc* cpu/74xx: include kgdb.h when neededMike Frysinger2010-02-08-0/+1
| | | | | | | | Commit cbb0cab1d929839d broke some platforms which used kgdb code but didn't actually include kgdb.h. So include kgdb.h in all the relevant traps code. Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
* ppc: remove -ffixed-r14 gcc option.Joakim Tjernlund2010-01-26-1/+1
| | | | | | This is no loger needed, free up r14 for general usage. Signed-off-by: Joakim Tjernlund <Joakim.Tjernlund@transmode.se>
* ppc: Use r12 instead of r14 as GOT pointer.Joakim Tjernlund2010-01-26-5/+6
| | | | | | | | r14 is not supposed to be clobbered by functions. Switch to r12 and call GET_GOT when needed. This will allow u-boot to loose the -ffixed-r14 gcc option. Signed-off-by: Joakim Tjernlund <Joakim.Tjernlund@transmode.se>
* ppc: Loose GOT access in IRQJoakim Tjernlund2010-01-26-33/+3
| | | | | | | | Using the GOT in IRQ handlers requires r14 to be -ffixed-r14. Avoid this by relocatate transfer_to_handler too. This will allow to free up r14 later on. Signed-off-by: Joakim Tjernlund <Joakim.Tjernlund@transmode.se>
* kgdb: drop duplicate debugger_exception_handlerMike Frysinger2010-01-18-4/+0
| | | | | | | The debugger_exception_handler definition is the same for everyone, so use the common one now. Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
* relocation: Do not relocate NULL pointers.Joakim Tjernlund2009-10-08-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | NULL is an absolute value and should not be relocated. After this correction code like: void weak_fun(void) __attribute__((weak)); printf("weak_fun:%p\n", weak_fun); will still print null after relocation. Signed-off-by: Joakim Tjernlund <Joakim.Tjernlund@transmode.se>
* ppc: Remove -fno-strict-aliasingKumar Gala2009-09-04-1/+1
| | | | | | -fno-strict-aliasing is hidding warnings. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* 74xx_7xx: Fix rounding problem in CPU frequency calculationStefan Roese2009-05-15-2/+2
| | | | | | | This patch fixes a problem in the CPU frequency calculation. Without it a 798MHz CPU is displayed as 368.503 MHz. And with it it's 798 MHz. Signed-off-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
* Update U-Boot's build timestamp on every compilePeter Tyser2008-12-06-1/+2
| | | | | | | Use the GNU 'date' command to auto-generate a new U-Boot timestamp on every compile. Signed-off-by: Peter Tyser <ptyser@xes-inc.com>
* 74xx: use r4 instead of r2 in lock_ram_in_cache and unlock_ram_in_cacheDave Liu2008-10-31-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The patch is following the commit 392438406041415fe64ab8748ec5ab5ad01d1cf7 mpc86xx: use r4 instead of r2 in lock_ram_in_cache and unlock_ram_in_cache This is needed in unlock_ram_in_cache() because it is called from C and will corrupt the small data area anchor that is kept in R2. lock_ram_in_cache() is modified similarly as good coding practice, but is not called from C. Signed-off-by: Nick Spence <nick.spence@freescale.com> also, the r2 is used as global data pointer. Signed-off-by: Dave Liu <daveliu@freescale.com>

* 74xx/7xx/86xx: Rename flush_data_cache to flush_dcache to match 85xx versionKumar Gala2008-10-18-5/+5
| | | | Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* fdt: rework fdt_fixup_ethernet() to use env instead of bd_tKumar Gala2008-08-21-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Move to using the environment variables 'ethaddr', 'eth1addr', etc.. instead of bd->bi_enetaddr, bi_enet1addr, etc. This makes the code a bit more flexible to the number of ethernet interfaces. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* Clean up usage of icache_disable/dcache_disableKumar Gala2008-08-19-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | There is no point in disabling the icache on 7xx/74xx/86xx parts and not also flushing the icache. All callers of invalidate_l1_instruction_cache() call icache_disable() right after. Make it so icache_disable() calls invalidate_l1_instruction_cache() for us. Also, dcache_disable() already calls dcache_flush() so there is no point in the explicit calls of dcache_flush(). Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* Remove the deprecated CONFIG_OF_FLAT_TREEGerald Van Baren2008-06-09-4/+0
| | | | | | | Use CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT instead to support flattened device trees. It is cleaner, has better functionality, and is better supported. Signed-off-by: Gerald Van Baren <vanbaren@cideas.com>
* Convert mpc7448hpc2 to CONFIG_OF_LIBFDTGerald Van Baren2008-06-09-20/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This was configured to use the deprecated CONFIG_OF_FLAT_TREE, change to CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT. WARNING: This conversion is untested because I do not have a board to test it on. NOTE: The FDT blob (DTS) must have an /aliases/ethernet0 and (optionally) /aliases/ethernet1 property for the ethernet to work. Signed-off-by: Gerald Van Baren <vanbaren@cideas.com>
* PPC: Create and use CONFIG_HIGH_BATSBecky Bruce2008-06-03-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | Change all code that conditionally operates on high bat registers (that is, BATs 4-7) to look at CONFIG_HIGH_BATS instead of the myriad ways this is done now. Define the option for every config for which high bats are supported (and enabled by early boot, on parts where they're not always enabled) Signed-off-by: Becky Bruce <becky.bruce@freescale.com>
* 7450 and 86xx L2 cache invalidate bug correctionsWheatley Travis2008-05-09-1/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The 7610 and related parts have an L2IP bit in the L2CR that is monitored to signal when the L2 cache invalidate is complete whereas the 7450 and related parts utilize L2I for this purpose. However, the current code does not account for this difference. Additionally the 86xx L2 cache invalidate code used an "andi" instruction where an "andis" instruction should have been used. This patch addresses both of these bugs. Signed-off-by: Travis Wheatley <travis.wheatley@freescale.com> Acked-By: Jon Loeliger <jdl@freescale.com>
* PPC: Use r2 instead of r29 as global data pointerWolfgang Denk2008-02-14-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | R29 was an unlucky choice as with recent toolchains (gcc-4.2.x) gcc will refuse to use load/store multiple insns; instead, it issues a list of simple load/store instructions upon function entry and exit, resulting in bigger code size, which in turn makes the build for a few boards fail. Use r2 instead. Signed-off-by: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a compatibility step that allows both the older form and the new form to co-exist for a while until the older can be removed entirely. All transformations are of the form: Before: #if (CONFIG_COMMANDS & CFG_CMD_AUTOSCRIPT) After: #if (CONFIG_COMMANDS & CFG_CMD_AUTOSCRIPT) || defined(CONFIG_CMD_AUTOSCRIPT) Signed-off-by: Jon Loeliger <jdl@freescale.com>

* Fix the exception occuring in RAM table search issue.roy zang2006-12-01-10/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The original search_one_table() function code can only processes the search for the exception occurring in FLASH/ROM, because the exception and fixup table usually locate in FLASH. If the exception address is also in FLASH, it will be OK. If the exception occurs in RAM, after the u-boot relocation, a relocation offset should be added. clean up the code in cpu/74xx_7xx/cpu.c Signed-off-by: Roy Zang <tie-fei.zang@freescale.com>

| * [PATCH] Add support for Prodrive P3M750 & P3M7448 (P3Mx) boardsStefan Roese2006-11-29-3/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds support for the Prodrive P3M750 (PPC750 & MV64460) and the P3M7448 (MPC7448 & MV64460) PMC modules. Both modules are quite similar and share the same board directory "prodrive/p3mx" and the same config file "p3mx.h". Signed-off-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>

* | General code modification for mpc7448hpc2 board support.roy zang2006-11-02-8/+103
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 1. Add 7447A and 7448 processor support. 2. Add the following flags. CFG_CONFIG_BUS_CLK : If the 74xx bus frequency can be configured dynamically (such as by switch on board), this flag should be set. CFG_EXCEPTION_AFTER_RELOCATE: If an exception occurs after the u-boot relocates to RAM, this flag should be set. CFG_SERIAL_HANG_IN_EXCEPTION: If the print out function will cause the system hang in exception, this flag should be set. There is a design issue for tsi108/109 pci configure read. When pci scan the slots, if there is no pci card, the tsi108/9 will cause a machine check exception for mpc7448 processor. * Add support for a saving build objects in a separate directory.Marian Balakowicz2006-09-01-8/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Modifications are based on the linux kernel approach and support two use cases: 1) Add O= to the make command line 'make O=/tmp/build all' 2) Set environement variable BUILD_DIR to point to the desired location 'export BUILD_DIR=/tmp/build' 'make' The second approach can also be used with a MAKEALL script 'export BUILD_DIR=/tmp/build' './MAKEALL' Command line 'O=' setting overrides BUILD_DIR environent variable. When none of the above methods is used the local build is performed and the object files are placed in the source directory.
