| * ppc: Enable full relocation to RAMPeter Tyser2009-10-03-8/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The following changes allow U-Boot to fully relocate from flash to RAM: - Remove linker scripts' .fixup sections from the .text section - Add -mrelocatable to PLATFORM_RELFLAGS for all boards - Define CONFIG_RELOC_FIXUP_WORKS for all boards Previously, U-Boot would partially relocate, but statically initialized pointers needed to be manually relocated. * | ppc_4xx: Apply new HW register namesNiklaus Giger2009-10-07-12/+12
|/ | | | | | | | Modify all existing *.c files to use the new register names as seen in the AMCC manuals. Signed-off-by: Niklaus Giger <niklaus.giger@member.fsf.org> Signed-off-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
* ppc4xx: Convert PPC4xx UIC defines from lower case to upper caseStefan Roese2009-09-28-30/+30
| | | | | | | The latest PPC4xx register cleanup patch missed the UIC defines. This patch now changes lower case UIC defines to upper case. Signed-off-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
* ppc/85xx: Clean up use of LAWAR definesKumar Gala2009-09-24-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | On 85xx platforms we shouldn't be using any LAWAR_* defines but using the LAW_* ones provided by fsl-law.h. Rename any such uses and limit the LAWAR_ to the 83xx platform as the only user so we will get compile errors in the future. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* ppc4xx: Big cleanup of PPC4xx definesStefan Roese2009-09-11-13/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch cleans up multiple issues of the 4xx register (mostly DCR, SDR, CPR, etc) definitions: - Change lower case defines to upper case (plb4_acr -> PLB4_ACR) - Change the defines to better match the names from the user's manuals (e.g. cprpllc -> CPR0_PLLC) - Removal of some unused defines Please test this patch intensive on your PPC4xx platform. Even though I tried not to break anything and tested successfully on multiple 4xx AMCC platforms, testing on custom platforms is recommended. Signed-off-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>

* 85xx: Move to a common linker scriptKumar Gala2009-08-28-286/+0
| | | | | | | | There are really no differences between all the 85xx linker scripts so we can just move to a single common one. Board code is still able to override the common one if need be. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* 86xx: Remove redudant PLATFORM_CPPFLAGSKumar Gala2009-08-28-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | For historic reasons we had defined some additional PLATFORM_CPPFLAGS like: PLATFORM_CPPFLAGS += -DCONFIG_MPC86xx=1 PLATFORM_CPPFLAGS += -DCONFIG_MPC8641=1 However these are all captured in the config.h and thus redudant. Also moved common 86xx flags into cpu/mpc86xx/config.mk. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* 85xx: Remove redudant PLATFORM_CPPFLAGSKumar Gala2009-08-28-7/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | For historic reasons we had defined some additional PLATFORM_CPPFLAGS like: PLATFORM_CPPFLAGS += -DCONFIG_E500=1 PLATFORM_CPPFLAGS += -DCONFIG_MPC85xx=1 PLATFORM_CPPFLAGS += -DCONFIG_MPC8548=1 However these are all captured in the config.h and thus redudant. * pci/fsl_pci_init: Fold fsl_pci_setup_inbound_windows into fsl_pci_initKumar Gala2009-08-28-12/+0
| | | | | | | | Every platform that calls fsl_pci_init calls fsl_pci_setup_inbound_windows before it calls fsl_pci_init. There isn't any reason to just call it from fsl_pci_init and simplify things a bit. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
* pci/fsl_pci_init: Fold pci_setup_indirect into fsl_pci_initKumar Gala2009-08-28-12/+4

* xpedite1k: Move to X-ES vendor directoryPeter Tyser2009-07-24-0/+723
| | | | | | | | | | The XPedite1000 is an X-ES product thus it can be put in board/xes along with other X-ES boards. Along with the move, the board was renamed to XPedite1000 from XPedite1K to fit X-ES's standard naming convention. Maintainership was also transfered to Peter Tyser. * Fix all linker script to handle all rodata sectionsTrent Piepho2009-03-20-6/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A recent gcc added a new unaligned rodata section called '.rodata.str1.1', which needs to be added the the linker script. Instead of just adding this one section, we use a wildcard ".rodata*" to get all rodata linker section gcc has now and might add in the future. However, '*(.rodata*)' by itself will result in sub-optimal section ordering. The sections will be sorted by object file, which causes extra padding between the unaligned rodata.str.1.1 of one object file and the aligned rodata of the next object file. This is easy to fix by using the SORT_BY_ALIGNMENT command. This patch has not be tested one most of the boards modified. Some boards have a linker script that looks something like this: *(.text) . = ALIGN(16); *(.rodata) *(.rodata.str1.4) *(.eh_frame) I change this to: *(.text) . = ALIGN(16); *(.eh_frame) *(SORT_BY_ALIGNMENT(SORT_BY_NAME(.rodata*))) This means the start of rodata will no longer be 16 bytes aligned. However, the boundary between text and rodata/eh_frame is still aligned to 16 bytes, which is what I think the real purpose of the ALIGN call is. Signed-off-by: Trent Piepho <xyzzy@speakeasy.org>
