* Add board MAINTAINERS filesMasahiro Yamada2014-07-30-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We have switched to Kconfig and the boards.cfg file is going to be removed. We have to retrieve the board status and maintainers information from it. The MAINTAINERS format as in Linux Kernel would be nice because we can crib the scripts/get_maintainer.pl script. After some discussion, we chose to put a MAINTAINERS file under each board directory, not the top-level one because we want to collect relevant information for a board into a single place. TODO: Modify get_maintainer.pl to scan multiple MAINTAINERS files. * kconfig: add board Kconfig and defconfig filesMasahiro Yamada2014-07-30-0/+23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit adds: - arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig provide a menu to select target boards - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig default setting of each board (This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script based on boards.cfg) In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/. * pmic: Extend PMIC framework to support multiple instances of PMIC devicesŁukasz Majewski2012-11-14-3/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The PMIC framework has been extended to support multiple instances of the variety of devices responsible for power management. This change allows supporting of e.g. fuel gauge, charger, MUIC (Micro USB Interface Circuit). Power related includes have been moved to ./include/power directory. This is a first of a series of patches - in the future "pmic" will be replaced with "power". Two important issues: 1. The PMIC needs to be initialized just after malloc is configured 2. It uses list to hold information about available PMIC devices Signed-off-by: Lukasz Majewski <l.majewski@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Kyungmin Park <kyungmin.park@samsung.com> Cc: Stefano Babic <sbabic@denx.de>

* mxc: Fix SDHC multi-instance clockBenoît Thébaudeau2012-10-16-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On mxc, each SDHC instance has a dedicated clock, so gd->sdhc_clk is not suitable for the multi-instance use case (initialization made directly with fsl_esdhc_initialize()). This patch fixes this issue by adding a configuration field for the SDHC input clock frequency. * fsl_esdhc: Remove cache snooping for i.MXBenoît Thébaudeau2012-09-01-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The cache snooping feature of Freescale's eSDHC IP is not available on i.MX, so disable it globally for this architecture. This avoids setting no_snoop for all i.MX boards, and it prevents setting a reserved bit of a reserved register if fsl_esdhc_mmc_init() is used on i.MX, like in arch/arm/cpu/armv7/imx-common/cpu.c/cpu_mmc_init(). Since no_snoop was only used on i.MX, get rid of it BTW. | * VIDEO: MX5: Switch MX5 to CONFIG_VIDEOStefano Babic2011-10-13-15/+21
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The framebuffer driver for MX5 is based on CONFIG_LCD. In the current implementation, there is a serious bug because the required memory is allocated before relocation, but the driver knows only later which is the resolution of the display. The patch switches the driver to CONFIG_VIDEO and the memory is allocated by the driver itself. We also need to switch the vision2 board code and config file in the same commit so that this commit will be bisectable. * Switch from archive libraries to partial linkingSebastien Carlier2010-11-17-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Before this commit, weak symbols were not overridden by non-weak symbols found in archive libraries when linking with recent versions of binutils. As stated in the System V ABI, "the link editor does not extract archive members to resolve undefined weak symbols". This commit changes all Makefiles to use partial linking (ld -r) instead of creating library archives, which forces all symbols to participate in linking, allowing non-weak symbols to override weak symbols as intended. This approach is also used by Linux, from which the gmake function cmd_link_o_target (defined in config.mk and used in all Makefiles) is inspired. The name of each former library archive is preserved except for extensions which change from ".a" to ".o". This commit updates references accordingly where needed, in particular in some linker scripts. This commit reveals board configurations that exclude some features but include source files that depend these disabled features in the build, resulting in undefined symbols. Known such cases include: - disabling CMD_NET but not CMD_NFS; - enabling CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT but not CONFIG_QE. Signed-off-by: Sebastien Carlier <sebastien.carlier@gmail.com>

* | Drop support for CONFIG_SYS_ARM_WITHOUT_RELOCWolfgang Denk2010-10-29-14/+0
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When this define was introduced, the idea was to provide a soft migration path for ARM boards to get adapted to the new relocation support. However, other recent changes led to a different implementation (ELF relocation), where this no longer works. By now CONFIG_SYS_ARM_WITHOUT_RELOC does not only not help any more, but it actually hurts because it obfuscates the actual code by sprinkling it with lots of dead and non-working debris. So let's make a clean cut and drop CONFIG_SYS_ARM_WITHOUT_RELOC. Signed-off-by: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de> Tested-by: Heiko Schocher <hs@denx.de> Tested-by: Reinhard Meyer <u-boot@emk-elektronik.de>
