| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | add support for the at91sam9260 based board smartweb from siemens. SPL is used without serial support, as this SoC has only 4k sram for running SPL. * usb: musb-new: CONFIG_MUSB prefix replacement with CONFIG_USB_MUSBPaul Kocialkowski2015-08-05-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | USB-related options are usually prefixed with CONFIG_USB and platform-specific adaptation for the MUSB controller already have a CONFIG_USB_MUSB prefix, so this switches all MUSB-related options to a CONFIG_USB_MUSB prefix, for consistency. * usb: USB download gadget and functions config options coherent namingPaul Kocialkowski2015-07-22-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | This introduces a coherent scheme for naming USB download gadget and functions config options. The download USB gadget config option is moved to CONFIG_USB_GADGET_DOWNLOAD for better consistency with other gadgets and each function's config option is moved to a CONFIG_USB_FUNCTION_ prefix. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The board select menu in arch/arm/Kconfig is still big. To slim down it, this commit moves AT91 boards to arch/arm/mach-at91/Kconfig. * kconfig: arm: introduce symbol for ARM CPUsGeorges Savoundararadj2014-10-29-18/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit introduces a Kconfig symbol for each ARM CPU: CPU_ARM720T, CPU_ARM920T, CPU_ARM926EJS, CPU_ARM946ES, CPU_ARM1136, CPU_ARM1176, CPU_V7, CPU_PXA, CPU_SA1100. Also, it adds the CPU feature Kconfig symbol HAS_VBAR which is selected for CPU_ARM1176 and CPU_V7. For each target, the corresponding CPU is selected and the definition of SYS_CPU in the corresponding Kconfig file is removed. Also, it removes redundant "string" type in some Kconfig files. * kconfig: remove redundant "string" type in arch and board KconfigsMasahiro Yamada2014-09-13-30/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now the types of CONFIG_SYS_{ARCH, CPU, SOC, VENDOR, BOARD, CONFIG_NAME} are specified in arch/Kconfig. We can delete the ones in arch and board Kconfig files. This commit can be easily reproduced by the following command: find . -name Kconfig -a ! -path ./arch/Kconfig | xargs sed -i -e ' /config[[:space:]]SYS_\(ARCH\|CPU\|SOC\|\VENDOR\|BOARD\|CONFIG_NAME\)/ { N s/\n[[:space:]]*string// } ' Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com>
* Add board MAINTAINERS filesMasahiro Yamada2014-07-30-0/+33
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We have switched to Kconfig and the boards.cfg file is going to be removed. We have to retrieve the board status and maintainers information from it. The MAINTAINERS format as in Linux Kernel would be nice because we can crib the scripts/get_maintainer.pl script. After some discussion, we chose to put a MAINTAINERS file under each board directory, not the top-level one because we want to collect relevant information for a board into a single place. TODO: Modify get_maintainer.pl to scan multiple MAINTAINERS files. * kconfig: add board Kconfig and defconfig filesMasahiro Yamada2014-07-30-0/+139
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit adds: - arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig provide a menu to select target boards - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig default setting of each board (This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script based on boards.cfg) In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/. * common: Add .u_boot_list into all linker filesMarek Vasut2012-10-22-0/+5
| | | | | | | | | | Add section for the linker-generated lists into all possible linker files, so that everyone can easily use these lists. This is mostly a mechanical adjustment. * Reduce build timesWolfgang Denk2011-11-03-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | U-Boot Makefiles contain a number of tests for compiler features etc. which so far are executed again and again. On some architectures (especially ARM) this results in a large number of calls to gcc. This patch makes sure to run such tests only once, thus largely reducing the number of "execve" system calls. Example: number of "execve" system calls for building the "P2020DS" (Power Architecture) and "qong" (ARM) boards, measured as: -> strace -f -e trace=execve -o /tmp/foo ./MAKEALL <board> -> grep execve /tmp/foo | wc -l Before: After: Reduction: ================================== P2020DS 20555 15205 -26% qong 31692 14490 -54% As a result, built times are significantly reduced, typically by 30...50%. * punt unused clean/distclean targetsMike Frysinger2011-10-15-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The top level Makefile does not do any recursion into subdirs when cleaning, so these clean/distclean targets in random arch/board dirs never get used. Punt them all. MAKEALL didn't report any errors related to this that I could see. Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
