* davinci: kconfig: move board select menu and common settingsMasahiro Yamada2014-08-30-8/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Becuase the board select menu in arch/arm/Kconfig is too big, move the Davinci board select menu to davinci/Kconfig. Move also common settings (CONFIG_SYS_CPU="arm926ejs" and CONFIG_SYS_SOC="davinci"). * arm: Add missing .vectors section to linker scriptsBenoît Thébaudeau2014-08-30-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Commit 41623c9 'arm: move exception handling out of start.S files' missed some linker scripts. Hence, some boards no longer had exception handling linked since this commit. Restore the original behavior by adding the .vectors section to these linker scripts. Signed-off-by: Benoît Thébaudeau <benoit.thebaudeau.dev@gmail.com> Cc: Albert ARIBAUD <albert.u.boot@aribaud.net>
* Add board MAINTAINERS filesMasahiro Yamada2014-07-30-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We have switched to Kconfig and the boards.cfg file is going to be removed. We have to retrieve the board status and maintainers information from it. The MAINTAINERS format as in Linux Kernel would be nice because we can crib the scripts/get_maintainer.pl script. After some discussion, we chose to put a MAINTAINERS file under each board directory, not the top-level one because we want to collect relevant information for a board into a single place. TODO: Modify get_maintainer.pl to scan multiple MAINTAINERS files. * kconfig: add board Kconfig and defconfig filesMasahiro Yamada2014-07-30-0/+23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit adds: - arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig provide a menu to select target boards - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig default setting of each board (This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script based on boards.cfg) In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/. * kbuild: rename SRCTREE to srctreeMasahiro Yamada2014-03-12-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Prior to Kbuild, $(TOPDIR) or $(SRCTREE) was used for pointing to the top of source directory. (No difference between the two.) In Kbuild style, $(srctree) is used for instead. This commit renames SRCTREE to srctree and deletes the defition of SRCTREE. * kbuild: change out-of-tree buildMasahiro Yamada2014-02-19-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit changes the working directory where the build process occurs. Before this commit, build process occurred under the source tree for both in-tree and out-of-tree build. That's why we needed to add $(obj) prefix to all generated files in makefiles like follows: $(obj)u-boot.bin: $(obj)u-boot Here, $(obj) is empty for in-tree build, whereas it points to the output directory for out-of-tree build. And our old build system changes the current working directory with "make -C <sub-dir>" syntax when descending into the sub-directories. On the other hand, Kbuild uses a different idea to handle out-of-tree build and directory descending. The build process of Kbuild always occurs under the output tree. When "O=dir/to/store/output/files" is given, the build system changes the current working directory to that directory and restarts the make. Kbuild uses "make -f $(srctree)/scripts/Makefile.build obj=<sub-dir>" syntax for descending into sub-directories. (We can write it like "make $(obj)=<sub-dir>" with a shorthand.) This means the current working directory is always the top of the output directory. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com> Tested-by: Gerhard Sittig <gsi@denx.de>

* cam_enc_4xx: Move CONFIG_SPL_PAD_TO to a config headerMasahiro Yamada2013-09-06-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For most boards which define CONFIG_SPL_PAD_TO, it is defined in config header files. Currently, there exists only one exception, cam_enc_4xx board. This patch moves CONFIG_SPL_PAD_TO definition from board/ait/cam_enc_4xx/config.mk to include/configs/cam_enc_4xx.h. * | mtd: resync with Linux-3.7.1Sergey Lapin2013-05-31-5/+7
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch is essentially an update of u-boot MTD subsystem to the state of Linux-3.7.1 with exclusion of some bits: - the update is concentrated on NAND, no onenand or CFI/NOR/SPI flashes interfaces are updated EXCEPT for API changes. - new large NAND chips support is there, though some updates have got in Linux-3.8.-rc1, (which will follow on top of this patch). To produce this update I used tag v3.7.1 of linux-stable repository. The update was made using application of relevant patches, with changes relevant to U-Boot-only stuff sticked together to keep bisectability. Then all changes were grouped together to this patch. | * Remove linker lists (LGAs) from SPL linker scriptsAlbert ARIBAUD2013-03-12-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Many SPL linker scripts needlessly include linker lists (aka LGAs). Remove them whenever possible; keep it only in the seven am335x_evm variants (am335x_evm, am335x_evm_uart[1-5], am335x_evm_spiboot), where there is actual content in output section .u_boot_list. * | Replace __bss_end__ with __bss_endSimon Glass2013-03-15-1/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | Note this is a tree-wide change affecting multiple architectures. At present we use __bss_start, but mostly __bss_end__. This seems inconsistent and in a number of places __bss_end is used instead. Change to use __bss_end for the BSS end symbol throughout U-Boot. This makes it possible to use the asm-generic/sections.h file on all archs. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
* spl: Change PAD_TO to CONFIG_SPL_PAD_TOScott Wood2012-12-19-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | This was already used by some SPL targets, and allows the pad amount to be specified by board config headers rather than only in makefile fragments. Also supply a pad-to of zero if the variable is undefined. It works without this, but this avoids relying on undocumented behavior.
