* net: move bootfile init into eth_initializeMike Frysinger2012-05-15-9/+2
| | | | | | | | All arches init this the same way, so move the logic into the core net code to avoid duplicating it everywhere else. Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org> Reviewed-by: Joe Hershberger <joe.hershberger@ni.com>
* net: punt bd->bi_ip_addrMike Frysinger2012-05-15-11/+0
| | | | | | | | | This field gets read in one place (by "bdinfo"), and we can replace that with getenv("ipaddr"). After all, the bi_ip_addr field is kept up-to-date implicitly with the value of the ipaddr env var. * cosmetic: s/BOARD_LATE_INIT/CONFIG_BOARD_LATE_INITHelmut Raiger2011-10-27-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This renames BOARD_LATE_INIT to CONFIG_BOARD_LATE_INIT. Along the way it removes some leftover #define BOARD_LATE_INIT 1 and adds some basic documentation for board specific callbacks in README. * sh: add calling mmc_initialize in board.cYoshihiro Shimoda2011-08-22-0/+12
| | | | | | | | Some SH have MMC controller. So, if we need it, we have to call the mmc_initialize(). Signed-off-by: Yoshihiro Shimoda <yoshihiro.shimoda.uh@renesas.com> Signed-off-by: Nobuhiro Iwamatsu <iwamatsu@nigauri.org>
* unify version_stringAndreas Bießmann2011-07-28-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch removes the architecture specific implementation of version_string where possible. Some architectures use a special place and therefore we provide U_BOOT_VERSION_STRING definition and a common weak symbol version_string. * sh: Add handling of CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH for board.cNobuhiro Iwamatsu2011-03-16-1/+7
| | | | | | | | | Some board of SH does not have flash memoy. This revises it to initialize Flash when CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH is not defined. Signed-off-by: Nobuhiro Iwamatsu <nobuhiro.iwamatsu.yj@renesas.com> Signed-off-by: Nobuhiro Iwamatsu <iwamatsu@nigauri.org>
* Replace "FLASH" strings with "Flash" or "flash"Peter Tyser2011-01-19-2/+2
| | | | | | | | There's no compelling reason to have the output on bootup or the "flinfo" command print "flash" in uppercase, so use the proper case where appropriate. Signed-off-by: Peter Tyser <ptyser@xes-inc.com>

* Move DECLARE_GLOBAL_DATA_PTR to file scopeJohn Rigby2010-12-21-5/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It can be optimised out by the compiler otherwise resulting in obscure errors like a board not booting. This has been documented in README since 2006 when these were first fixed up for GCC 4.x. Signed-off-by: John Rigby <john.rigby@linaro.org> Fix some additional places. * Replace CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE by auto-generated valueWolfgang Denk2010-10-26-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE has always been just a bad workarond for not being able to use "sizeof(struct global_data)" in assembler files. Recent experience has shown that manual synchronization is not reliable enough. This patch renames CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE into GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE which gets automatically generated by the asm-offsets tool. In the result, all definitions of this value can be deleted from the board config files. We have to make sure that all files that reference such data include the new <asm-offsets.h> file. No other changes have been done yet, but it is obvious that similar changes / simplifications can be done for other, related macro definitions as well. * Rename TEXT_BASE into CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASEWolfgang Denk2010-10-18-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | The change is currently needed to be able to remove the board configuration scripting from the top level Makefile and replace it by a simple, table driven script. Moving this configuration setting into the "CONFIG_*" name space is also desirable because it is needed if we ever should move forward to a Kconfig driven configuration system. * Move lib_$ARCH directories to arch/$ARCH/libPeter Tyser2010-04-13-0/+211
Also move lib_$ARCH/config.mk to arch/$ARCH/config.mk This change is intended to clean up the top-level directory structure and more closely mimic Linux's directory organization. Signed-off-by: Peter Tyser <ptyser@xes-inc.com>
