* powerpc: convert makefiles to Kbuild styleMasahiro Yamada2013-10-31-56/+34
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Note: arch/powerpc/cpu/mpc8260/Makefile is originally like follows: ---<snip>--- START = start.o kgdb.o COBJS = traps.o serial_smc.o serial_scc.o cpu.o cpu_init.o speed.o \ ---<snip>--- COBJS-$(CONFIG_ETHER_ON_SCC) = ether_scc.o ---<snip>--- $(LIB): $(OBJS) $(call cmd_link_o_target, $(OBJS) $(obj)kgdb.o) The link rule `$(call cmd_link_o_target, $(OBJS) $(obj)kgdb.o)' is weird. kbdg.o is not included in $(OBJS) but linked into $(LIB) and $(LIB) is not dependent on kgdb.o. (Broken dependency tracking) So, START = start.o kgdb.o shoud have been START = start.o SOBJS = kgdb.o That is why this commit adds kgdb.o to obj-y, not to extra-y. * SPDX: fix IBM-pibs license identifierWolfgang Denk2013-09-20-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The SPDX License List version 1.19 now contains an official entry for the IBM-pibs license. However, instead of our suggestion "ibm-pibs", the SPDX License List uses "IBM-pibs", with the following rationale: "The reason being that all other SPDX License List short identifiers tend towards using capital letters unless spelling a word. I'd prefer to be consistent to this end". Change the license IDs to use the official name. Signed-off-by: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de>

* SPDX-License-Identifier: convert PIBS licensed filesWolfgang Denk2013-08-19-109/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit adapts the files that were derived from PIBS (PowerPC Initialization and Boot Software) codeto using SPDX License Identifiers. So far, SPDX has not assigned an official License ID for the PIBS license yet, so this should be considered preliminary. Note that the following files contained incorrect license information: arch/powerpc/cpu/ppc4xx/4xx_uart.c arch/powerpc/cpu/ppc4xx/start.S arch/powerpc/include/asm/ppc440.h These files included, in addition to the GPL-2.0 / ibm-pibs dual license as inherited from PIBS, a GPL-2.0+ license header which was obviously incorrect. This has been removed. Signed-off-by: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de> Cc: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de> Signed-off-by: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de> Conflicts: Licenses/README Acked-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | 'bool' is defined in random places. This patch consolidates them into a single header file include/linux/types.h, using stdbool.h introduced in C99. All other #define, typedef and enum are removed. They are all consistent with true = 1, false = 0. Replace FALSE, False with false. Replace TRUE, True with true. Skip *.py, *.php, lib/* files. | * Refactor linker-generated arraysAlbert ARIBAUD2013-03-12-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Refactor linker-generated array code so that symbols which were previously linker-generated are now compiler- generated. This causes relocation records of type R_ARM_ABS32 to become R_ARM_RELATIVE, which makes code which uses LGA able to run before relocation as well as after. Note: this affects more than ARM targets, as linker- lists span possibly all target architectures, notably PowerPC. * | Replace __bss_end__ with __bss_endSimon Glass2013-03-15-3/+3
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | Note this is a tree-wide change affecting multiple architectures. At present we use __bss_start, but mostly __bss_end__. This seems inconsistent and in a number of places __bss_end is used instead. Change to use __bss_end for the BSS end symbol throughout U-Boot. This makes it possible to use the asm-generic/sections.h file on all archs. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

* usb: use linux/usb/ch9.h instead of usbdescriptors.hIlya Yanok2012-11-20-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Linux usb/ch9.h seems to have all the same information (and more) as usbdescriptors.h so use the former instead of the later one. As a consequense of this change USB_SPEED_* values don't correspond directly to EHCI speed encoding anymore, I've added necessary recoding in EHCI driver. Also there is no point to put speed into pipe anymore so it's removed and a bunch of host drivers fixed to look at usb_device->speed instead. Old usbdescriptors.h included is not removed as it seems to be used by old USB device code. This makes usb.h and usbdevice.h incompatible. Fortunately the only place that tries to include both are the old MUSB code and it needs usb.h only for USB_DMA_MINALIGN used in aligned attribute on musb_regs structure but this attribute seems to be unneeded (old MUSB code doesn't support any DMA at all). * common: Discard the __u_boot_cmd sectionMarek Vasut2012-10-22-3/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | The command declaration now uses the new LG-array method to generate list of commands. * consolidate mdelay by providing a common function for all usersAnatolij Gustschin2011-10-22-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | There are several mdelay() definitions in the driver and board code. Remove them all and provide a common mdelay() in lib/time.c. Signed-off-by: Anatolij Gustschin <agust@denx.de> Acked-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
* net: drop !NET_MULTI codeMike Frysinger2011-10-05-4/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | This is long over due. All but two net drivers have been converted, but those have now been dropped. The only thing left to do is actually delete all references to NET_MULTI and code that is compiled when that is not defined. So here we scrub the core code. * ppc4xx: Flush dcache after DDR2 autocalibration with caches onStefan Roese2011-09-19-0/+7
| | | | | | | | Flush the dcache before removing the TLB with caches enabled. Otherwise this might lead to problems later on, e.g. while booting Linux (as seen on ICON-440SPe). Signed-off-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
* unify version_stringAndreas Bießmann2011-07-28-8/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | This patch removes the architecture specific implementation of version_string where possible. Some architectures use a special place and therefore we provide U_BOOT_VERSION_STRING definition and a common weak symbol version_string. * PPC405EX CHIP_21 erratumSteven A. Falco2011-05-12-0/+64
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | APM errata CHIP_21 for the 405EX/EXr (from the rev 1.09 document dated 4/27/11) states that rev D processors may wake up with the wrong feature set. This patch implements the APM-proposed workaround. To enable this patch for your board, add the appropriate define for your CPU to your board header file. See kilauea.h for more information. The following variants are supported: #define CONFIG_SYS_4xx_CHIP_21_405EX_NO_SECURITY #define CONFIG_SYS_4xx_CHIP_21_405EX_SECURITY #define CONFIG_SYS_4xx_CHIP_21_405EXr_NO_SECURITY #define CONFIG_SYS_4xx_CHIP_21_405EXr_SECURITY Please note that if you select the wrong define, your board will not boot, and JTAG will be required to recover. Tested on custom boards using: CONFIG_SYS_4xx_CHIP_21_405EX_NO_SECURITY <sfalco@harris.com> CONFIG_SYS_4xx_CHIP_21_405EX_SECURITY <eibach@gdsys.de> Signed-off-by: Steve Falco <sfalco@harris.com> Acked-by: Dirk Eibach <eibach@gdsys.de> Signed-off-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
