* serial: Remove serial_putc_raw_devTom Rini2016-01-25-12/+0
| | | | | | | | | clang-3.8 reports that serial_putc_raw_dev in serial_ns16550.c is unused. Further investigation shows that we have 3 places that implement this function and no callers, remove. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
* stdio: Pass device pointer to stdio methodsSimon Glass2014-07-23-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | At present stdio device functions do not get any clue as to which stdio device is being acted on. Some implementations go to great lengths to work around this, such as defining a whole separate set of functions for each possible device. For driver model we need to associate a stdio_dev with a device. It doesn't seem possible to continue with this work-around approach. Instead, add a stdio_dev pointer to each of the stdio member functions. Note: The serial drivers have the same problem, but it is not strictly necessary to fix that to get driver model running. Also, if we convert serial over to driver model the problem will go away. Code size increases by 244 bytes for Thumb2 and 428 for PowerPC. 22: stdio: Pass device pointer to stdio methods arm: (for 2/2 boards) all +244.0 bss -4.0 text +248.0 powerpc: (for 1/1 boards) all +428.0 text +428.0 Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Acked-by: Marek Vasut <marex@denx.de> Reviewed-by: Marek Vasut <marex@denx.de>

* serial: Remove CONFIG_SERIAL_MULTI from serial driversMarek Vasut2012-10-15-61/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | Remove the support for not-CONFIG_SERIAL_MULTI part from serial port drivers and some board files. Since CONFIG_SERIAL_MULTI is now enabled by default, that part is a dead code. Remove it. * serial: mpc512x: Move serial registration from serial_initialize()Marek Vasut2012-10-15-0/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move the registration of serialN_device ports from default serial_initialize() into driver specific function called from serial_initialize(). This slims down the serial_initialize() call to a bare tracker of all possible serial port registration routines in U-Boot. The newly implemented mpc512x_serial_initialize() function, which is implemented inside of the mpc512x serial driver allows encapsulation of serialN_device within the mpc512x serial driver itself. Also, remove the exports of serialN_device from include/serial.h as they are no longer needed. This is simply because the implementation of default_serial_console() is wrapped into the mpx512x serial driver and the default console is picked by CONFIG_SERIAL<N> macro in config file. * serial: Properly spell out the structure member names of serial_driverMarek Vasut2012-10-15-9/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Properly spell out the whole structure member names when an initialized varible is instantiated from the struct serial_driver. In case the structure definition for struct serial_driver undergoes reordering, there will be no impact on variables defined based on this structure. * serial: drop useless ctlr fieldMike Frysinger2011-07-26-6/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The multi serial support has a "ctlr" field which almost no one uses, but everyone is forced to set to useless strings. So punt it. Funny enough, the only code that actually reads this field (the mpc8xx driver) has a typo where it meant to look for the SCC driver. Fix it while converting the check to use the name field. * serial: push default_serial_console to driversMike Frysinger2011-07-26-0/+12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Rather than sticking arch/board/driver specific logic in the common serial code, push it all out to the respective drivers. The serial drivers declare these funcs weak so that boards can still override things with their own definition. * mpc5121: add PSC serial communication routinesAnatolij Gustschin2010-04-24-0/+87

* mpc512x: add multi serial PSC supportAnatolij Gustschin2010-04-24-28/+238
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Extend mpc512x serial driver to support multiple PSC ports. Subsequent patches for PDM360NG board support make use of this functionality by defining CONFIG_SERIAL_MULTI in the board config file. Additionally the used PSC devices are specified by defining e.g. CONFIG_SYS_PSC1, CONFIG_SYS_PSC4 and CONFIG_SYS_PSC6. Support for PSC devices other than 1, 3, 4 and 6 is not added by this patch because these aren't used currently. In the future it can be easily added using DECLARE_PSC_SERIAL_FUNCTIONS(N) and INIT_PSC_SERIAL_STRUCTURE(N) macros in cpu/mpc512x/serial.c. Additionally you have to add code for registering added devices in serial_initialize() in common/serial.c. Signed-off-by: Anatolij Gustschin <agust@denx.de>
* Move arch/ppc to arch/powerpcStefan Roese2010-04-21-0/+193
As discussed on the list, move "arch/ppc" to "arch/powerpc" to better match the Linux directory structure. Please note that this patch also changes the "ppc" target in MAKEALL to "powerpc" to match this new infrastructure. But "ppc" is kept as an alias for now, to not break compatibility with scripts using this name.
