* openrisc: updating build tools naming conventionGuillaume REMBERT2015-11-12-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Dear u-boot community, I just made a small change on the openrisc-generic platform configuration to take in account the new naming convention (or1k instead of or32, so the build process gets fine). Could you take care to review and approve the following patch, please? Kind regards,
* openrisc: Use the generic bitops headersFabio Estevam2015-11-05-0/+4
| | | | | | | | The generic bitops headers are required when calling logarithmic functions, such as ilog2(). Signed-off-by: Fabio Estevam <fabio.estevam@freescale.com> Reviewed-by: Jagan Teki <jteki@openedev.com>
* arch: Make board selection choices optionalJoe Hershberger2015-05-12-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | By making the board selections optional, every defconfig will include the board selection when running savedefconfig so if a new board is added to the top of the list of choices the former top's defconfig will still be correct. * net: Remove the bd* parameter from net stack functionsJoe Hershberger2015-04-18-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This value is not used by the network stack and is available in the global data, so stop passing it around. For the one legacy function that still expects it (init op on old Ethernet drivers) pass in the global pointer version directly to avoid changing that interface. * Kbuild: introduce Makefile in arch/$ARCH/Daniel Schwierzeck2014-12-08-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Introduce a Makefile under arch/$ARCH/ and include it in the top Makefile (similar to Linux kernel). This allows further refactoringi like moving architecture-specific code out of global makefiles, deprecating config variables (CPU, CPUDIR, SOC) or deprecating arch/$ARCH/config.mk. In contrary to Linux kernel, U-Boot defines the ARCH variable by Kconfig, thus the arch Makefile can only included conditionally after the top config.mk. * kconfig: remove redundant "string" type in arch and board KconfigsMasahiro Yamada2014-09-13-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now the types of CONFIG_SYS_{ARCH, CPU, SOC, VENDOR, BOARD, CONFIG_NAME} are specified in arch/Kconfig. We can delete the ones in arch and board Kconfig files. This commit can be easily reproduced by the following command: find . -name Kconfig -a ! -path ./arch/Kconfig | xargs sed -i -e ' /config[[:space:]]SYS_\(ARCH\|CPU\|SOC\|\VENDOR\|BOARD\|CONFIG_NAME\)/ { N s/\n[[:space:]]*string// } ' Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com>

* kconfig: add board Kconfig and defconfig filesMasahiro Yamada2014-07-30-0/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit adds: - arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig provide a menu to select target boards - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig default setting of each board (This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script based on boards.cfg) In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/. * openrisc: fix relocation codeFranck Jullien2014-06-05-14/+41
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The relocation code can now relocate from anywhere to the RAM. The old code assumed that the binary was copied to the RAM by some PBL and then it just relocated the .text section from the loaded address to the linked address. Now, it first checks if vectors are somewhere else than the linked address. If yes, there are copied to address 0 (or to the exception vector base address if register EVBAR is present). Then, the .text section is relocated from its current location to the RAM. Signed-off-by: Franck Jullien <franck.jullien@gmail.com>
* openrisc: update SPR registers definitionFranck Jullien2014-06-05-1/+12

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | gd->bd->bi_baudrate is a copy of gd->baudrate. Since baudrate is a common feature for all architectures, keep gd->baudrate only. * avr32/m68k/microblaze/nds32/nios2/openrisc/sh/sparc: fix do_bootm_linuxAndreas Bießmann2013-07-02-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 35fc84fa1ff51e15ecd3e464dac87eb105ffed30 broke bootm on avr32. It requires to call do_bootm_linux() with flag set to BOOTM_STATE_OS_PREP before calling it again with flag set to BOOTM_STATE_OS_GO. Fix this by allowing flag set to BOOTM_STATE_OS_PREP, this however will require a complete refactoring later on. * Clarify bootm OS argumentsSimon Glass2013-06-26-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | At present the arguments to bootm are processed in a somewhat confusing way. Sub-functions must know how many arguments their calling functions have processed, and the OS boot function must also have this information. Also it isn't obvious that 'bootm' and 'bootm start' provide arguments in the same way. Adjust the code so that arguments are removed from the list before calling a sub-function. This means that all functions can know that argv[0] is the first argument of which they need to take notice. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

* Introduce generic link section.h symbol filesSimon Glass2013-03-15-0/+27
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We create a separate header file for link symbols defined by the link scripts. It is helpful to have these all in one place and try to make them common across architectures. Since Linux already has a similar file, we bring this in even though many of the symbols there are not relevant to us. Each architecture has its own asm/sections.h where symbols specifc to that architecture can be added. For now everything except AVR32 just includes the generic header. One change is needed in arch/avr32/lib/board.c to make this conversion work. Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@ti.com> (version 5) Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

* Add architecture-specific global dataSimon Glass2013-02-01-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | We plan to move architecture-specific data into a separate structure so that we can make the rest of it common. As a first step, create struct arch_global_data to hold these fields. Initially it is empty. This patch applies to all archs at once. I can split it if this is really a pain.
