* net: Remove the bd* parameter from net stack functionsJoe Hershberger2015-04-18-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This value is not used by the network stack and is available in the global data, so stop passing it around. For the one legacy function that still expects it (init op on old Ethernet drivers) pass in the global pointer version directly to avoid changing that interface. * Kbuild: introduce Makefile in arch/$ARCH/Daniel Schwierzeck2014-12-08-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Introduce a Makefile under arch/$ARCH/ and include it in the top Makefile (similar to Linux kernel). This allows further refactoringi like moving architecture-specific code out of global makefiles, deprecating config variables (CPU, CPUDIR, SOC) or deprecating arch/$ARCH/config.mk. In contrary to Linux kernel, U-Boot defines the ARCH variable by Kconfig, thus the arch Makefile can only included conditionally after the top config.mk. | | | | | | | | | Some CPUs of some architectures have SOC directories. * linux/kernel.h: sync min, max, min3, max3 macros with LinuxMasahiro Yamada2014-11-23-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | U-Boot has never cared about the type when we get max/min of two values, but Linux Kernel does. This commit gets min, max, min3, max3 macros synced with the kernel introducing type checks. Many of references of those macros must be fixed to suppress warnings. We have two options: - Use min, max, min3, max3 only when the arguments have the same type (or add casts to the arguments) - Use min_t/max_t instead with the appropriate type for the first argument Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com> Acked-by: Pavel Machek <pavel@denx.de> Acked-by: Lukasz Majewski <l.majewski@samsung.com> Tested-by: Lukasz Majewski <l.majewski@samsung.com> [trini: Fixup arch/blackfin/lib/string.c] Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@ti.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit adds: - arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig provide a menu to select target boards - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig default setting of each board (This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script based on boards.cfg) In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/. | | | | | | | | | | | | Commit 1865286466a5d0c7f2e3c37632da56556c838e9e (Introduce generic link section.h symbol files) changed the __bss_end symbol type from char[] to ulong. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Refactor linker-generated array code so that symbols which were previously linker-generated are now compiler- generated. This causes relocation records of type R_ARM_ABS32 to become R_ARM_RELATIVE, which makes code which uses LGA able to run before relocation as well as after. * | Introduce generic link section.h symbol filesSimon Glass2013-03-15-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We create a separate header file for link symbols defined by the link scripts. It is helpful to have these all in one place and try to make them common across architectures. Since Linux already has a similar file, we bring this in even though many of the symbols there are not relevant to us. Each architecture has its own asm/sections.h where symbols specifc to that architecture can be added. For now everything except AVR32 just includes the generic header. One change is needed in arch/avr32/lib/board.c to make this conversion work. Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@ti.com> (version 5) Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
* | Replace __bss_end__ with __bss_endSimon Glass2013-03-15-5/+5
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | Note this is a tree-wide change affecting multiple architectures. At present we use __bss_start, but mostly __bss_end__. This seems inconsistent and in a number of places __bss_end is used instead. Change to use __bss_end for the BSS end symbol throughout U-Boot. This makes it possible to use the asm-generic/sections.h file on all archs. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>

* common: Convert the U-Boot commands to LG-arraysMarek Vasut2012-10-22-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch converts the old method of creating a list of command onto the new LG-arrays code. The old u_boot_cmd section is converted to new u_boot_list_cmd subsection and LG-array macros used as needed. Minor adjustments had to be made to the common code to work with the LG-array macros, mostly the fixup_cmdtable() calls are now passed the ll_entry_start and ll_entry_count instead of linker-generated symbols. The command.c had to be adjusted as well so it would use the newly introduced LG-array API instead of directly using linker-generated symbols.
