README

This README file contains information on building the meta-isee
BSP layer. Please see the corresponding sections below for details.

Dependencies
============

This layer depends on:

URI: https://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/
branch: pyro

URI: git://git.openembedded.org/meta-openembedded
branch: pyro

URI: https://github.com/meta-qt5/meta-qt5.git

I. Building the meta-isee BSP Layer
=========================================

In order to build an image with BSP support for a given release, you
need to download the corresponding needed Layer:

A: poky
B: meta-openembedded
C: meta-qt5
D: meta-isee

$ git clone -b pyro https://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/

Enter to the poky directory,

$ cd poky

Clone the rest of layers,

$ git clone -b pyro git://git.openembedded.org/meta-openembedded
$ git clone -b pyro https://github.com/meta-qt5/meta-qt5.git

Checkout to pyro branch of meta-isee,

$ cd meta-isee
$ git checkout pyro

Source the environment,

$ source oe-init-build-env

Having done that, and assuming you downloaded the BSP contents
at the top-level of your yocto build tree, you can build a igep
image by adding the location of all the dependant layers layer to
conf/bblayers.conf, e.g.:

BBLAYERS ?= " \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta-poky \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta-yocto-bsp \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta-openembedded/meta-oe \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta-openembedded/meta-multimedia \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta-openembedded/meta-python \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta-openembedded/meta-networking \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta-openembedded/meta-ruby \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta-qt5 \
/home/isee/yocto-project/meta-isee \
"

To enable the isee layer, add any of igep supported machines to conf/local.conf, e.g.:

MACHINE ?= "igep0046dl"

This is the list of available MACHINES at the moment:

> igep0020
> igep0020hf
> igep0033
> igep0034
> igep0046dl

To build images enter the build directory sourcing the environment with

$ source oe-init-build-env

You should then be able to build a image as such:

$ DISTRO="igep-release-no-x11" bitbake igep-minimal-image

In order to avoid writing DISTRO name all the time youcan also add the
DISTRO name to conf/local.conf, e.g.:

DISTRO ?= "igep-release-no-x11"

Then you can build images simply using bytbake

$ bitbake igep-minimal-image

This is the list of available DISTROS at the moment:

> isee-mrskeltal
> isee-release-no-x11
> isee-release
> isee-systemd
> criticallink-qt5

This is the list of availabe IMAGES at the moment

> igep-mrskeltal-image
> igep-minimal-image
> igep-basic-image
> igep-basicX-image
> igep-criticallink-qt5-image
> igep-full-image
> igep-test-image

At the end of a successful build, you should have a compressed RootFS an u-boot and a zImage (Kernel)
in yocto [tmp -> work -> machine ->deploy] directory.
